Wedding FAQ's


Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in Kingston, MA and shoot all over New England, however, that doesn’t limit the area we're willing to cover for weddings!


Q: How do I contact you?
A: You can call us at 617.365.9377, email or fill out our Contact Form. We are happy to meet, at a location of your choice, for a free consultation to discuss your needs.


Q: What pricing packages are available?
A: We offer several Wedding Packages designed to meet a range of needs including intimate ceremonies at a single location, traditional (and non-traditional) wedding days at multiple locations as well as multi-day events. We would be happy to explain our standard package pricing with you and will develop a custom proposal after a brief consultation.  


Q: How do I hire you for my wedding?
A: After a brief consultation, we will confirm our availability for your wedding date and discuss your specific needs. We will then send you a contract outlining our agreed upon expectations. To formally book us for your wedding day, a 25% deposit of the total cost is required. Deposits are due along with your signed contract. Dan McHugh Photography can accept personal checks and cash as deposit payments.


Q: Why do I need to fill out a contract?
A: A contract is filled out for several reasons. One is to reserve your date on our calendar. Our contracts serve as a release which allows us to take your picture. Our contract with you specifies the details of your wedding and specifies all of the terms and agreements decided upon.


Q: Do you photograph engagement sessions and rehearsal dinners?
A: Yes. We are available for engagement sessions, rehearsal dinners and other celebration opportunities. These can be booked separately or can be combined with one of our standard packages.


Q. What type of equipment do you use?
A: We shoot with professional Nikon camera bodies and lenses to meet a wide range of needs in a variety of lighting situations.  
Professional lighting and backdrops are also available for an additional cost.


Q: Do you bring backup equipment?
A: Yes. Our backup equipment includes professional quality Nikon camera bodies, lenses and lighting. Along with extra equipment, we always travel with extra batteries and memory cards. We always try to prepare for mishaps to you can focus on enjoying your special day.  


Q: Do you shoot film or digital?
A. We shoot 100% digital and all post production work is done in professional editing software.


Q: How much experience do you have?
A: Our photographers have a passion for photography and have many years of experience. We've been involved in photography off and on since childhood and our work has been published in newspapers, magazines, yearbooks, websites and more.


Q: Will you travel for weddings?
A: Yes, we are happy to travel for weddings. There is no travel fee for any wedding within 150 miles of Kingston, MA. If air travel or hotel stays are required for weddings outside that geographic area, the cost would be billed to you.


Q: Will I be able to view my photographs online?
A: Yes, along with your family and friends, you will be able to view your images and order prints and other merchandise online for one year. There is a link on the site to direct you to your event.


Q: When will I receive the proofs of my wedding?
A: You will receive online proofs within 4-7 weeks of your wedding.
